Why Belgian ornamental horticulture?
Flanders is in the Top 5 of the largest exporters of horticultural products in Europe. In addition, Flanders has a foothold in the top 10 of exporters worldwide. The Belgian production value of horticultural products has been stable over the years at around 560 million euros.
With 21 million exported azaleas, Flanders is the number 1 in the world ranking.
Every year, Flanders exports around 430 million euros worth of plants and flowers and, partly thanks to its central location in Europe, it plays an important role in the trade.
